Please remember when letting your hall or church premises that you must ensure that organizations that use your space have strong safeguarding policies and practices. You will want to be assured that those working and volunteering in the organization have adequate DBS and safer recruitment, that staff are well trained, and that clear policies and procedures are in place to prevent harm and respond to any incidents. This is not only about your reputation as a church in the community, but is about promoting a safe culture for children and vulnerable adults in everything that we are involved in. If you have any concerns or doubts about existing letting arrangements, please speak as soon as possible to your Archdeacon.
If you are considering allowing another religious denomination to use your space for worship, you will also need to speak to your Archdeacon and the Registrar, as lettings to religious organizations can only take place under certain circumstances, and may need a licence drawing up, with permission from the Bishop.
